With all that is going on in the world: wars, government issues, poverty, depression, more wars, people becoming more critical, people die every minute of every day, ailments stay untreated, friendships stay unresolved etc. It’s just so hard to be happy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that every human being is lonely; I’m just trying to point out the reality that although people yearn for a life filled only with happiness, it just seems so inevitable to grasp.
Oh what a life it would be if everything is just the way you wanted it to be, positive and vibrant. Other people may be quick to burst the bubble and say, “Well, life is full of ups and downs, problems are a fact of life” and I do agree with them. You know why everything seems to go downhill? It’s because of this three letter word: S-I-N.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12
We are living in a world full of sinners, and unfortunately that includes you and me. That in itself couldn’t be good. But the problem becomes worse when we learn from the Bible that sin does not just affect every aspect of our life here on earth, it’s consequences goes beyond life… it includes death and what happens to us after that—to be put in a place where we are going to be tormented forever, that’s in HELL. THIS IS FOR ALL SINNERS, NO EXCEPTIONS, AND BECAUSE EVERYONE IS BORN A SINNER, EVERYONE’S DESTINATION IS TO HELL NOT HEAVEN.
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelations 21:8
And before this goes more depressing for you, I am now going to shed some light to bring you to the point I’m trying to make.
You know, people nowadays dream about a life that is filled with happiness and they try to look for it in the wrong places. The secret to happiness is found in the Person whom most people deny, ignore and even mock. The secret to happiness is to know the Person of Jesus Christ.
“Come on! I don’t have time for religion here…”
No, I’m not sharing my religion with you; I am sharing with you the secret to a life filled with joy unspeakable, happiness that goes beyond the daily trials of life.
- The very familiar verse of John 3:16 gives us the big picture of who Jesus Christ is and what is His purpose here on earth. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Remember what the Bible says about our destination because of our sins? Jesus Christ, God the Son, came down to earth, humbled Himself, became man, died on the Cross of Calvary, paid for our sins, that we may no longer experience that dreadful place. It is because HE LOVED US THAT HE SAVED US! Believe that He did this for you and you will experience a relationship like no other, a relationship that goes beyond life, because of Him we can now claim eternal life in Heaven.
- If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your God and Savior, trials will still come. Being a CHRISTian does not exempt you from experiencing troubles in life but Christ will give you grace to overcome it. Now that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you know for a fact that whatever happens, He has a reason and a purpose for it. We are secured in Him. We can trust Him. We are confident that we are safe in Him.
- My personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important relationship I have in my life because He is my stronghold, my refuge, my source of happiness. Yes, I do experience pain and sufferings still but because I know Christ, I have peace that passes all understand, I have JOY UNSPEAKABLE.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:3-9
