Are you currently in love? Have you met prince charming but he doesn’t seem to notice you?
Women nowadays seem to have so many issues and struggles about love and relationships which may also be a result of the many telenovelas and TV shows today.
But as Christians, our decisions, our actions, our way of life should be based solely upon God’s Word. That’s where we conform because God’s Word is timeless—what’s right back then is right until now and will always be right until the Lord takes us home.
So, for today’s topic, let’s read 1 Corinthians 7:34:
“There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.”
God is very clear in His word that there is a difference of priority between one who is unmarried (a virgin) and one who is married (a wife).
Let’s focus on the unmarried women.
Single ladies, God’s will for you right now is not to chase men or “love” if you want to call it that way. God wants you to focus on how you may please Him, which means that if you are chasing men, you are not doing God’s will and your action is not pleasing to Him.
THERE ARE A LOT, I MEAN A LOT, OF THINGS TO DO RIGHT NOW OTHER THAN THINKING OF HIM ALL DAY, TRYING YOUR BEST TO BE WITH HIM WHENEVER YOU CAN, EXPRESSING YOUR LOVE FOR HIM, “COURTING” HIM, MOURNING OVER A HEARTBREAK.
Try the following:
- Do you still have parents? Serve them! Love them! Care for them! Be with them! When you get married, you will see that you won’t have the same much time to spend with them than when you’re still single.
- Are you still studying? Do your best! Learn as much as you can! Your education is more important now than having a boyfriend. That guy can wait if he also has the right priorities in life. When you get married, you’ll have a different set of priorities.
- Do you have ministries in church? Help and get involved! Single women have what married women don’t have—MORE TIME.
So here’s my advice to all single women who waste their precious time on chasing prince charming:
God created you for a purpose and that is not primarily to be the princess to your prince- He created you first and foremost for His glory and for His pleasure. Therefore, until God decides to give you prince charming—spend your precious time doing God’s will. God’s will for you right now is to be holy both in body and in spirit. That means being pure not just in your body but in your mind and heart. Besides, isn’t it that when you have Christ, you have all that you’ll ever need?
So who needs a prince if your Father is the King of kings? 🙂
