Death: A Topic Shunned By Most People (pt.1)

tomb stones

We are exposed to this cruel world even by watch the news nowadays. A young lady raped, robbers entering a house and kills a family, people getting pissed off by another and ended up in a  fight which sometimes leads to death. What’s even scarier is that you and I live in that cruel world—this world.

Not only is the crime rate higher every day but we also hear about people, sometimes those whom we call family, dealing and battling terminal illnesses. We see them every day, slowly deteriorating from health and eventually from life. A very sad truth for an introduction, you may think.

But here’s the point that I’m trying to make:

When you come face to face with the reality of death—only what’s important surfaces.

You may not realize this now but I want you think for a second about those people whom I’ve listed down above, let’s put ourselves in their shoes and think of what might be going through their head, knowing that life is about to end for them and soon they’ll be gone from this world.

What if?

What if you found out, you have stage 4 Cancer and the doctor said, you only have a few months to live? How would you spend your time, knowing that each second of your life will no longer be given back to you?

I BET YOU WILL NEVER THINK ABOUT MISSING YOUR FAVORITE T.V. SHOW, YOU WILL BE THINKING ABOUT WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU AND YOU WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO INVEST ALL YOUR TIME, EMOTIONS, POSSESSIONS, AND EVEN YOUR VERY LIFE FOR THAT, KNOWING THAT YOU’LL BE GONE ANYTIME SOON AND YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU’VE GIVEN YOUR ALL IN THIS JOURNEY CALLED LIFE.

You may say, “I’m perfectly fine, my neighborhood is safe!” Let me tell you this, neither of those people mentioned above thought it will be there last day on earth.

You can never dictate how long you will live ‘cause if God says it’s time for you to go, IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO GO.

I always remember what my pastor use to tell us about death: it’s never a matter of IF you die, it’s a matter of WHEN.

”  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27

Now, here’s a truth that I try to hold on to each day and I hope that you get something out of this. LIVE LIFE WITH THE VISION OF ETERNITY

  • If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ then life is not going to be any easier when you die! I encourage you to read John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 14:6 and go to this link, I have something important to tell you.
  • If you are saved, how are you living your life? James 4:4 tells us that when we choose to live life in accordance to the world’s standards, we are committing spiritual adultery. You don’t want to be called an adulterer/adulteress right? Quit living like those who do not know the Lord and choose the live life according to the Bible. I’d love to hear your story, send me a message and we can talk about it.

What’s important to you, dear Christian? It’s time to re-arrange our priorities. Stop spending time over mundane things, start investing for eternity because you’ll never know when God will say, “TIME’S UP! It’s time for you to go home!”
