Evaluating 2014

2014-Happy-New-Year-Free-HD-Picture-1

We are approaching the end of the year again and most people find it to the best time to evaluate what happened all throughout the year, I wanted to do the same but then I stopped to ask a different question to myself…

Instead of, what have I done this year? I asked,

What has God done in my life this year?

Taking the spotlight away from me, I start to reminisce precious moments when God has allowed certain things to happen this year that ultimately led to my peace and is for my better good.

…when certain prayers were answered by a ‘no’ and God replaced it with something far, far better. I remembered God’s sovereignty.

…when I almost had nothing (financially) and I start to feel worthless for not being able to give something to my family, God gave me a job. I remembered God’s providence.

…when a plan is delayed and God asked me to wait a little more. I remembered His peace.

…when I started my discipleship classes this year with three precious young ladies at church. I remembered His passion.

…when certain consequences for my sins were not given. I remembered His mercy.

…when God allowed me to get back on track and do right this time—-several times. I remembered His grace.

…Some people I know passed away this year, I remember His mission to share the Gospel.

…When I was rebuked by church service messages especially concerning my attitude and service for the Lord. I remembered His holiness.

But most importantly, I remembered His love.

His love that is so deep and unfathomable.

His love that I can never measure.

His love that saved my soul from hell.

His love that continually chooses to teach me, rebuke me and mold me despite my sinful state.

His love that is evident every moment of this year and will be evident until He comes back to take me home in heaven.

..and that made a difference this year and will continually make a difference in the years to come.

I heard this song from a friend and was really blessed by it. Here’s a link to its audio: None Like You

None like You

(Soundforth)

Creator of the moon and stars, of mountains reaching high,
Creator of the galaxies who hears a baby’s cry.
Eternity, with all its years, stands present in Your view.
Alpha and Omega, Lord, there is none like You.

You make the wilderness to bloom and in the desert sand,
Provide the gentle, soaking rain, refreshing thirsty land.
You send the warming of the sun, the fragile snowflake too.
We bow in gratitude, O Lord, there is none like You.

You paint the rainbow on the storm and tell the wind to cease,
You reach out with tender hand, creation is at peace.
You speak Your Word and it is done, the universe obeys,
But we are free to choose, Your children sing Your praise.

Creator of the moon and stars, of mountains reaching high,
Creator of the galaxies who hears a baby’s cry.
Eternity, with all its years, stands present in Your view.
Alpha and Omega, Lord, there is none like You.

Oh to be like Christ in the years to come! That is my prayer as 2014 ends and a new year begins.
