You know what’s amazing about God (besides the fact that no words can express how AMAZING HE TRULY IS) is that HE KNOWS HIS CHILDREN– and their needs.
God knows when His child needs a REBUKE.
when His child needs a tap in the shoulder for COMFORT.
when His child needs UNDERSTANDING over uncertainties in life.
when His child needs to BE STILL and know that HE IS GOD.
And..THAT WAS ME.
I had some issues that needed to be resolved because it starts affecting my relationship with God, my church attendance, my values, my relationships and my mindset.
Those issues were technically SIN — cause anything that is against God is SIN. And when you have a “pet” SIN in your life that you nurture until it grows deeper and deeper within you, you grow farther and farther away from God.
Since GOD and SIN can never be together.
But praise the Lord for helping me to get back on track slowly.
I had one client today at the bank with a verse printed at the back of his shirt.
As soon as I got home, I immediately opened my Bible and looked into the passage, and here it goes:
“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. “ KJV
JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO HEAR!
I went further and did a research on this passage and I became even more broken with what God reminded me today. There are 3 points:
1. SOW TO YOURSELVES IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
I’d like to compare this passage to a seed that is sown in the ground. In the passage, we are to sow the SEED of righteousness in ourselves. How? Well, I believe when we got saved we have 100% access to the righteousness of God because of Jesus Christ and where would be the best place to find it? Of course, in His WORD– THE BIBLE. When we apply God’s principles in His Word, that is sowing righteousness.
2. REAP IN MERCY
–When we sow, we reap afterwards. Why then should we reap in MERCY? ’cause the moment that we take time to read God’s word and sow it in our lives, that’s not merely our INTELLIGENCE that is working, that is not merely our EAGERNESS TO BECOME RIGHTEOUS that is working, that is not merely our PASSION. IT IS STILL BY GOD’S MERCY THAT WE ARE ABLE TO DO THIS. When WE REAP, IT IS NOT MERIT OF OUR WORKS, IT IS STILL BECAUSE GOD IS MERCIFUL TO US. We have nothing to prove, we have nothing to proud of when we become righteous, when we become RIGHT WITH GOD.. ’cause “without Him, we can do nothing” John 15:5
3.TIME TO SEEK THE LORD TILL HE COME TO RAIN RIGHTEOUSNESS UPON YOU.
It is a blessed sight to see a SEED grow. But it’ll require DISCIPLINE, and DEPENDENCE UPON GOD. When I want to become more like God, I have to start disciplining myself into sowing righteousness in my life through His word and by His MERCY! —UNTIL HE RETURNS. HE WILL RAIN RIGHTEOUSNESS UPON ME—FOREVER IN HEAVEN!
MY LIFE IS TRULY A RACE THAT I NEED TO FINISH– WITH GOD’S GRACE, I’ll FINISH IT WELL!
